Description:
Modern Kung Fu is a unique footwear design project that caters to the needs of users who engage in taichi and hiking activities in a single day. Through my extensive research, I discovered that these two activities have significantly different requirements in terms of footwear. While hiking necessitates cushioning and grip for traversing rugged terrains, taichi demands a more minimalist design that gives users a heightened sense of grounding to maintain their balance.
To meet these contrasting needs, my design features a modular outer layer that can easily switch between hiking boots and minimalist taichi shoes. The hiking boots are equipped with ample cushioning and sturdy grip so that users can conquer any trail, while the taichi shoes offer a minimal, form-fitting structure that enhances ground feel and balance. With this versatile footwear solution, users can effortlessly transition between the two activities without compromising performance or comfort.
